TECH BASKETBALL RETURNS TO ACTION AT HENDERSON STATE

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys and Golden Suns basketball teams head to Arkadelphia for their first Great American Conference road games of the season Saturday against Henderson State. The women's game tips off at 1 p.m., followed by the men's at 3.

The No. 24 Golden Suns (6-0, 1-0 GAC) have won all six of their games by double digits, most recently dispatching Ouachita Baptist 84-54 Thursday evening. Tech split last year's season series, but has taken 13 of the past 14 contests against the Reddies (2-6, 0-3).

Suns junior Fatima Adams continues to lead the league in scoring, dumping in 21.5 points per game, while leading the team with 10.5 rebounds per game and 14 total steals. Henderson brings in a pair of scorers averaging double-digits in Aungelique Sledge (16.1 ppg) and Haleigh Henson (10.9 ppg).

The Wonder Boys (4-4, 0-1 GAC) saw their three-game winning streak snapped by a 64-57 loss to Ouachita Thursday night. They'll face one of the league's top scoring defenses in the Reddies (4-3, 2-1), who allow a slim 66.1 points per outing. Tech has won the past six meetings with Henderson and 14 of the past 15.

Senior Mike Balogun leads the Wonder Boys with 13.0 points per game, while junior Nick Wayman chips in with 11.0 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds. The Reddies counter with Reggie Murphy, who is in the top 10 in
the GAC in both scoring and rebounding with 16.3 points and 7.7 boards per game. Kevin Kozan puts up 13.3 points per game and is shooting 51.4 percent from beyond the arc.

The doubleheader action will be carried live on KWKK FM 100.9, with live video and stats available at www.arkansastechsports.com.
