Anissa Pounds turned in a 26-point performance,
Fatima Adams had a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double, and
Caroline Eubanks grabbed seven rebounds as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team took an 89-70 win over Dallas Diesel in the 2014-15 season's exhibition opener on Saturday at Tucker Coliseum.
Jacinda Myers-Sanders added 11 points and
Katrina Hayden added 10 points in the winning effort.
The Golden Suns held a 55-31 advantage on the rebounding glass, including a 16-3 advantage on the offensive glass. Tech shot 55.9 percent from the floor in the first half and held a 44.3 to 38.3 percent advantage for the game.
Tech was 6-of-19 from 3-point range, led by Pounds' five 3-pointers.
The Golden Suns continue their exhibition season on Saturday, Nov. 15, hosting Central Baptist at Tucker Coliseum. A 1 p.m. tip is scheduled.
