SEARCY, Ark. – Junior linebacker
Logan Genz turned in a 14-tackle effort, giving him 352 career tackles and tying the all-time Arkansas Tech tackles record initially set by Mike Gurule (1990-93) in Arkansas Tech's season-ending 41-7 loss to 16
th-ranked Harding.
The Wonder Boys (3-8, 3-7 Great American Conference) were held off the scoreboard until the closing drive of the game, when
Justin Owens connected with
DeRon Brown on a 34-yard touchdown pass, capping an eight-play, 65-yard drive.
The Bisons (9-1, 9-1 GAC) used their triple-option attack to score the game's first 41 points, and rack up 311 yards on the ground.
Genz's 14 tackles led the Wonder Boys, while
Shai Kobayashi turned in a 12-tackle performance, adding a fumble recovery.
Owens made the most of his longest sustained action under center for the Wonder Boys, as the sophomore signal-caller completed 13-of-33 passes for 130 yards and a score.
Curt Ceralde was solid as well, completing six of nine passes for 46 yards.
With 77 receiving yards, Brown was Tech's top receiver in the season finale, while
Michael Perry continued to contribute as a jack-of-all-trades, rushing for 13 yards, completing a
short pass, racking up 96 return yards and adding a pair of tackles in the season finale.
