2014 Highlights
Saw action in four games... completed 13 of 33 passes for 130 yards and a score, all coming against Harding (11/15)... also filled in as the Wonder Boys' punter against East Central, punting nine times for 315 yards averaging 35 yards and pinning opponents inside the 20-yard line twice.

2013 Highlights
Saw action in 11 games, primarily as the Wonder Boys' short-yardage quarterback... carried 46 times for 132 yards... racked up nine rushing touchdowns... had two scores on two rushes against Southwestern Oklahoma (9/14)... two scores after seven rushes for 36 yards at Southern Nazarene (9/21)... went for the hat trick against East Central, scoring three touchdowns on the strength of a nine-carry, 12-yard game (11/2).

In High School
As a senior in 2011, Owens, who played for his dad, Greg Owens at SSHS, passed for 2,705 yards and had 26 touchdowns and added 288 rushing yards and five touchdowns... he was named the District 13-4A Offensive MVP and earned First-Team All-District honors and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection...  was selected to play in the East Texas FCA All-Star Game, earned Honorable Mention Academic All-State accolades... led SSHS to an 8-4 record in 2011 and a District and Bi-District Championship and helped the Wildcats to an Area finalist appearance... also played catcher for the SSHS baseball team and is involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
