ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –
Sierra Nighswonger dished out 34 assists and had six digs,
Emily Todd had a 12-kill performance with eight digs hitting .391, while
Madison Nagel had an 18-dig performance with two service aces, as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (17-5, 9-1 Great American Conference) swept Henderson State University (3-17, 0-9 GAC) 3-0 in Arkadelphia on Tuesday.
The win is Tech's ninth straight.
"Although we weren't very sharp defensively, we are happy to come away with another GAC road win," said head coach
Kristy Bayer. "We will begin our focus on Southwestern Oklahoma. They are playing well right now, knocking off Southeastern [Oklahoma] tonight."
Tech swept to the win behind set wins of 25-22, 25-14, and 25-18, helping the Golden Suns win their ninth straight match and sixth straight conference match.
Kaci Jackson added five kills, nine digs and one ace, while
Sara Stovall hit .667 with two kills, as the Golden Suns outhit the Reddies .269 to .074, hitting match-best .458 in the second set.
The Golden Suns will return to action on Thursday, October 16, facing Mid-America Christian in Oklahoma City at 6:30 p.m. and will face Southwestern Oklahoma State University on October 17, in Weatherford, Okla. at 7 p.m.
