Kennedy Shelstead

Kennedy Shelstead enters into her second season as an assistant volleyball coach at Arkansas Tech after spending the previous two as a graduate assistant for the program.

In her two seasons as a graduate assistant, Shelstead helped lead the Golden Suns to a combined 29-13 overall record and a 19-7 mark in the Great American Conference. In 2021, Tech finished in a tie for second place in the GAC regular season standings after a 13-3 league record. As the No. 3-seed, the Golden Suns went on to capture their fifth conference tournament title and advanced to their sixth NCAA Regional Tournament all-time.
 
Prior to coming to Tech as a GA, Shelstead wrapped up her collegiate volleyball career at Abilene Christian University where she played in 171 sets over two seasons. A middle blocker for the Wildcats, Shelstead totaled 351 kills and 175 total blocks. Shelstead’s time at ACU came after she played her first two seasons of collegiate volleyball at John Brown University. While at JBU, Shelstead played in 146 sets and totaled 257 kills and 117 blocks.
 
Overall, Shelstead played in 317 sets and racked up 608 kills and 292 total blocks.
