Wyatt Anderson enters his second year as graduate assistant for the 2021 season as Running Backs Assistant Coach.
Anderson joined the Black Hills State University coaching staff as the wide receiver’s coach in May of 2019 under the direction of head coach John Reiners. During Anderson’s time in the Black Hills of South Dakota, he played a major role in jump starting and improving the passing game production in many statistical categories while heavily involved in the passing game plan. With Anderson the Yellow Jackets Offense jumped from 74
th to 46
th in the nation on 3rd down conversion percentage; passing efficiency improved from 98.22 to 102.43; yards per completion improved from 9.87 yards to 10.77 yards. With Anderson leading the wide receiver position group, the Yellow Jackets had an all-conference WR selection in Keilar Harpham, who with Anderson, improved his catches from 42 to 60 catches; 379 to 729 yards receiving; 1 to 6 touchdowns. Harpham finished 6
th in receptions in the RMAC while missing two games due to injury.
Anderson went to BHSU from Florida Atlantic University where he spent the 2018 season. He joined the FAU staff as an Offensive Assistant/Assistant Tight Ends coach under the direction of head coach Lane Kiffin and tight end coach Clint Trickett in summer 2018. In addition to working primarily with the tight end position in an offense that finished 14th in total offense in the entire offense in the country, he worked with first team All-Conference USA tight end Harrison Bryant whom the next season won the Mackey award for the Best TE in college football and became a 4
th round draft selection of the Cleveland Browns. Anderson played a major role in recruiting as well in a class that went from 75th to 59th in 247 recruiting rankings in one season.
Anderson was an Offensive Assistant/Assistant Wide Receivers Coach at Mississippi State beginning in 2016. Under the direction of head coach Dan Mullen and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, he worked directly with the wide receiver position and assisted in the development of the school's career leaders in receptions, Fred Ross (Carolina Panthers) and Jordan Thomas (Houston Texans). Anderson was responsible for breaking down upcoming opponent game film and opposing defenses personnel.
Before trading in his pads for a clipboard, Anderson played wide receiver for Mississippi State University from the 2014 season to Spring 2015. As a WR for the Bulldogs, Mississippi State achieved its first No. 1 ranking in school history for five straight weeks, the best record in school history (10-3), and a New Year's Six Bowl appearance in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
