RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's cross country team is set to begin a new era under recently-named head coach Maggie Davis by competing in their first race of the year at the Memphis Twilight, on Saturday, September 5 starting at 9:20 p.m.
At the Memphis Twilight, the Golden Suns will be taking part in the collegiate 5K alongside 19 other teams with eight being from the NCAA Division I ranks. The Golden Suns will be one of seven teams from DII.
Last season, the Golden Suns pushed past their hurdle of five-straight top-three finishes at the Great American Conference Championship and captured the program's first-ever title. Several of the scoring runners from that championship team do not return in 2026 and Tech was picked to finish fifth in the GAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Golden Suns do return Second Team All-GAC Runner
Peyton Carson along with 10 other runners who competed last cross country season while also welcoming in a pair of newcomers.
