LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to play its final weekend series at home over the course of the next 72 hours as they will host rival Harding.
 
Due to forecasted inclement weather on Friday, the series is scheduled to played on Thursday and Saturday. Thursday will feature a single game starting at 4 p.m. from the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex. Saturday is slated for a doubleheader starting at Noon with Senior Day ceremony taking place prior to game one.
 
Saturday will also be Pack the Berm presented by Lee Ann's Fine Jewelry – a community event hosted by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. All the fun and games for that will start at 10 a.m.
 
The Golden Suns and Lady Bisons have met 41 times prior to their series. The series began in 2014 when Harding started their program and has been played annually as conference rivals. Tech currently holds a 21-20 lead in the series.
 
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the series with an overall record of 33-12 and are 21-6 in the GAC. They are coming off a doubleheader split with Rogers State this past Tuesday. Each team would win their game 1-0 with Tech claiming the finale in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns enter this weekend hitting .273 as a team (331-for-1,212) with 215 runs scored, 57 doubles, 10 triples and 35 home runs.
 
Aubree Jones currently leads the team in batting average at .336 (41-for-122). Aaliyah Dixon has provided the most power production thus far with a .624 slugging percentage thanks to five doubles, four triples and seven home runs. Jones paces the team in RBIs with 33 while Anna Winkfield leads the team in runs scored with 34.
 
In the circle, the Golden Suns have a team ERA of 2.30 and have struck out 228 batters in 316.2 innings of work.
 
A total of five pitchers have appeared in the circle for the Golden Suns. Aly White, Ainslee Moore and Emily Richarde made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend against Oklahoma Baptist and figure to be in the mix against Harding.
 
White is 12-5 with a 1.67 ERA and has 57 strikeouts in 104.2 innings. Moore is 11-1 with a 2.32 ERA and has 53 strikeouts in 90.1 innings. Richarde is 7-3 with a 2.24 ERA and has 86 strikeouts in 81.1 innings.
 
Leading the Golden Suns is Jordon Jones. In her fourth season as head coach of the Golden Suns, Jones has amassed a 114-85 record at Tech. Prior to coming to Tech, Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 266-160.
 
SCOUTING HARDING
Harding enters the series with Tech with a 24-17 overall record and a 19-8 mark in the GAC. They have lost two-straight games and are coming off a series loss at home against Southern Nazarene. In that series, Harding won the first game, 4-0, but dropped the next two, 2-1 and 3-0.
 
Entering play against Tech, the Lady Bisons are hitting .287 as a team (311-for-1,082) with 169 runs scored, 44 doubles, five triples and 18 home runs.
 
Zoey Neal currently leads the team in batting average at .380 (49-for-129). Neal has also provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Lady Bisons and leads the team with a .574 slugging percentage thanks to seven doubles and six home runs. Neal also leads the team in RBIs with 30 while Bailey Robinson leads the team in runs scored with 31.
 
In the circle, the Lady Bisons have a team ERA of 2.89 and have struck out 214 batters in 276.2 innings of work.
 
The Lady Bisons used a weekend rotation of Brooklyn Gobble and Avery Booker in their weekend series against Southern Nazarene. Those two figure to be in the rotation against Tech this weekend.
 
Gobble is 16-11 with a 2.57 ERA with 127 strikeouts in 152.1 innings. Booker is 8-4 with a 2.47 ERA with 71 strikeouts in 99.1 innings.
 
Leading the Lady Bisons is Ashley Reeves. She is in her fifth season as head coach at Harding and her seventh overall. In her time at Harding, Reeves is 181-85 and is 212-119 overall.
