LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to being a 10-game stretch of home games this weekend starting with a three-game series against No. 17-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.

The series is scheduled to start with a doubleheader at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17 and conclude with a single game on Saturday, April 16 starting at Noon.

The Golden Suns and Bison have met 33 times prior to their series this weekend. The series began in 2009 and has been played annually since 2016 when Oklahoma Baptist moved to NCAA Division II and joined the GAC. Oklahoma Baptist currently holds an 18-15 lead in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the series with an overall record of 31-9 and are 20-4 in the GAC. They are coming off a 2-1 series win on the road at Southern Nazarene last weekend. After having their 19-game winning streak snapped in extra innings in the first game, Tech responded with a 3-1 win in the second game and a 2-1 win in the finale.

Offensively, the Golden Suns enter this weekend hitting .278 as a team (302-for-1,088) with 208 runs scored, 53 doubles, 10 triples and 34 home runs.

Aubree Jones currently leads the team in batting average at .363 (41-for-113).
Jones has also provided the most power production thus far with a .637 slugging percentage thanks to five doubles, one triple and eight home runs. Additionally,
Jones paces the team in RBIs with 32 while
Anna Winkfield leads the team in runs scored with 33.

In the circle, the Golden Suns have a team ERA of 2.39 and have struck out 202 batters in 281.2 innings of work.

A total of five pitchers have appeared in the circle for the Golden Suns.
Aly White,
Ainslee Moore and
Emily Richarde made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend against Southern Nazarene and figure to be in the rotation against Southern Nazarene.

White is 11-3 with a 1.79 ERA and has 49 strikeouts in 90.0 innings.
Moore is 11-0 with a 2.38 ERA and has 50 strikeouts in 79.1 innings.
Richarde is 6-3 with a 2.24 ERA and has 71 strikeouts in 72.0 innings.

Leading the Golden Suns is
Jordon Jones. In her fourth season as head coach of the Golden Suns,
Jones has amassed a 112-82 record at Tech. Prior to coming to Tech,
Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 265-158.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist enters the series with Tech with a 34-10 overall record and a 20-4 record in the GAC. The Bison have lost their last four games and are most-recently coming off being swept in a doubleheader on the road at Northeastern State this past Tuesday. Prior to that, the Bison dropped the final two games of their weekend series at home to Harding.

Entering play against Tech, the Bison are hitting .328 as a team (381-for-1,161) with 292 runs scored, 54 doubles, five triples and 54 home runs.

Greenlee Wells currently leads the team in batting average at .459 (50-for-109).
Wells has also provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bison and leads the team with a 1.092 slugging percentage thanks to 10 doubles, a triple and 19 home runs. Having been walked 56 times,
Wells also leads the team in RBIs with 57 and runs scored with 49.

The Bison used a weekend rotation of
Jaycee Shaffer and
Jaycee Kelln in their weekend series against Harding. Those two figure to be in the rotation against Tech this weekend.

Kelln is 12-4 with a 2.85 ERA with 111 strikeouts in 108.0 innings.
