Golden Suns finish seventh at stacked Buccaneer Invitational

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The No. 36 ranked Arkansas Tech women's golf team wrapped up play at the Buccaneer Invitational on Tuesday and finished in seventh place. The Golden Suns were one of eight teams ranked in the top-40 at the event.
 
OFFICIAL RESULTS

As a team, the Golden Suns totaled 912 strokes (+60) on the par-71, 6,117-yard Miami Shores Country Club. The four scoring Golden Suns at the tournament all finished in the top-30 individually.
 
Ellen Spigner would end up having the lowest score on the team as she carded a three-round 225 (+12). Her rounds saw her shoot 77, 74 and 74 as she finished 22nd. One place back of Spigner was teammate Jessie Norman as she finished 23rd with a 14-over (227). Norman got off to a great start in her tournament as she shot an even-par (71) in the opening round on Monday.
 
Jaylee Castro, who had the best round of all Golden Suns with a one-under (70) in the second round, finished 26th with a 16-over (229). Averi Mickelson was the fourth scorer for the Golden Suns and she would finish in a tie for 29th after consistent rounds of 77 across all three.
 
The Golden Suns will next be in action in two weeks at the Hardscrabble Invitational. That two-day event will take place at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith Monday, March 23 – Tuesday, March 24.
