Fresh off a thrilling 80-75 comeback win in overtime on Saturday, the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is back in action at home on Monday taking on Arkansas-Monticello.
 
This will be the 112th meeting all-time between Tech and Arkansas-Monticello and the second meeting this season. The Golden Suns won the first meeting, 67-57, on the road on December 18. The series began in 1977 and the two have played regularly every year since as conference rivals. Overall, Tech leads the series 80-31.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 16-3 overall and 12-3 in the GAC. They have won three-straight and are coming off a thrilling 80-75 overtime win at home against Oklahoma Baptist this past Saturday. Additionally, the Golden Suns remain receiving votes in the latest WBCA Division II Top-25 poll, which was released this past Tuesday.
 
Statistically, the Golden Suns average 82.3 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 70.3 ppg to rank 12th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .442 (544-of-1,230) to rank first in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .415 mark (464-of-1,118) to rank ninth.
 
From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .334 (141-of-422) to rank second and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .336 clip (121-of-360) to rank 12th. At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .775 (334-of-431) to rank sixth.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have three players scoring in double figures. Logan Young leads the way at 17.4 ppg followed by AbbiGrace Cunningham at 11.6 ppg. Perina Leime rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.8 ppg.
 
Dessie Lancaster leads the team in rebound average at 6.5 rpg. In terms of assists, Shalyn Lyle leads the team at 3.1 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Young at 1.7 spg each. Young also leads the team in blocks at 0.9 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 379-156 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 11 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
 
SCOUTING THE COTTON BLOSSOMS
Arkansas-Monticello is 6-15 overall and are 1-14 in the GAC. They have lost their last five games with their most-recent defeat being a 65-48 loss at home East Central this past Saturday.
 
Statistically, the Cotton Blossoms average 58.4 ppg and rank 12th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Cotton Blossoms rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 63.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Cotton Blossoms are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .387 (441-of-1,141) and are allowing their opponents a .417 mark (488-of-1,170) to rank 10th.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Cotton Blossoms shoot at a clip of .283 (98-of-346) to rank 10th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .309 (108-of-350) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Cotton Blossoms shoot .709 as a team (246-of-347) to rank eighth.
 
Individually, the Cotton Blossoms have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Alyssa Batton and her 13.6 ppg. Alindsey Long is next and rounds out double figure scoring at 12.6 ppg.
 
Briley Harper is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Brilynn Findley leads the team and is averaging 2.9 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Cotton Blossoms are led in steals by Findley at 1.4 steals per game and in blocks by Taleigha Ealy at 0.9 blocks per game.
 
The Cotton Blossoms are coached by David Miclick, who is in his fourth season at Arkansas-Monticello and his 12th overall. In his time at UAM, Midlick is 35-70 and is 165-174 overall.
