The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to play their second full weekend of games as they will take part in the 2026 Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville.

The Golden Suns are slated to take on Northwest Missouri and Emporia State on Friday and then Missouri Southern and St. Edward's on Saturday.

The Golden Suns enter this weekend with an overall record of 2-2 after they split their four games played on opening weekend in Branson.

Offensively, the Golden Suns are hitting .280 as a team (30-for-107) with 24 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Aubree Jones currently leads the team in batting average at .400 (4-for-10). Jones has also provided the most power production thus far with a 1.00 slugging percentage thanks to a pair of home runs to go along with her two singles. Aly White paces the team in RBIs with six. Jones leads the team in runs scored with five.

A total of four pitchers have appeared in at least two games with Aly White and Ainslee Moore making two starts each this season. Jenny Shank has made the most appearances overall for Tech with three, all in relief.

Northwest Missouri is off to a 2-3 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, Northwest beat Drury, 3-2 in nine innings and Lewis, 8-7, but lost to Oklahoma Baptist, 8-3, Minnesota Duluth, 6-4 and Missouri-St. Louis, 6-2.

Entering play against Tech, the Bearcats are hitting .291 as a team (43-for-148) with 20 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple and one home run.

Alexis Brown currently leads the team in batting average at .400 (8-for-20). Sara Farlow has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bearcats and leads the team with a .714 slugging percentage thanks to a home run. Omara Love paces the team in RBIs with eight while Mackenzie Mlnarik has scored the most runs with five.

Jadyn Streigle, Erika Gore and Olivia Moyer have all started a game for Northwest early on. Streigle and Moyer have made multiple starts. Rein Moore has also appeared in three games, all in relief, and leads the team in ERA (2.15), innings pitched (13.0) and strikeouts (13).

Emporia State is off to a 4-1 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, Emporia played Lewis, East Central, Colorado School of Mines, Eastern New Mexico and Southern Arkansas. Their only loss was a 2-1 outcome with Southern Arkansas.

Entering play this weekend, the Hornets are hitting .352 as a team (45-for-128) with 31 runs scored, four doubles, no triples and seven home runs.

Brooke Flewelling currently leads the team in batting average at .588 (10-for-17). She also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Hornets and leads the team with a 1.118 slugging percentage thanks to three home runs to go along with seven singles. She also leads the team in RBIs with nine and runs scored with six.

In the circle, the Hornets have a team ERA of 1.35 and have struck out 16 batters in 31.0 innings of work.

Chloe Wilson, Izzy Sloan, Hannah Butterbaugh and Maci Hays have all started a game for Emporia State. Wilson is the only one with multiple starts. She is 1-1 with a 1.40 ERA and has two strikeouts in 10.0 innings.

Leading the Hornets on an interim basis is Megan Hill. She was named interim head softball coach at Emporia in December of 2025 after spending the last two years as an assistant with the Hornets. Previously, Hill was the head coach at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid.

SCOUTING MISSOURI SOUTHERN
Missouri Southern is off to a 5-0 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, Missouri Southern played and beat Texas Woman's, Colorado School of Mines, Southern Nazarene, St. Edward's and Cameron.

Entering play this weekend, the Lions are hitting .345 as a team (49-for-142) with 28 runs scored, six doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Bailey Dillon currently leads the team in batting average at .611 (11-for-18). She also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Lions and leads the team with a 1.00 slugging percentage thanks to two doubles, a triple and a home run. Dillon is also tied for the team-lead in runs scored with seven and is tied for second in RBIs with five.

Emily Davis, Kiki Pickens and Kadence Janney have all started a game for Missouri Southern with Davis and Janney having started multiple games. St. Edward's is off to an 0-4 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, St. Edward's played Maryville, Central Missouri, Missouri Southern and Oklahoma Baptist.

Entering play this weekend, the Hilltoppers are hitting .228 as a team (18-for-79) with nine runs scored, two doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Darian Deleon currently leads the team in batting average at .455 (5-for-11). Cianna Rodriguez has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Hilltoppers and leads the team with a .833 slugging percentage thanks to a home run. Deleon and Dafne Mercado are tied for the team-lead in RBIs with two. Nine different players have scored a single run for the Hilltoppers.
