FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech softball team will make a return trip to Branson, Missouri and will play four more games over the next two days as they will take part in the D2 Branson Battle.
 
The Golden Suns are slated to take on Quincy and Nebraska Kearney on Thursday and then Pittsburg State and Truman State on Friday.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter this weekend with an overall record of 4-4 after they went 2-2 last weekend at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville. Tech would pick up wins against Emporia State and St. Edward's.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns enter this weekend hitting .257 as a team (55-for-214) with 37 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple and five home runs.
 
Aubree Jones currently leads the team in batting average at .450 (9-for-20). Jones has also provided the most power production thus far with a .900 slugging percentage thanks to a trio of home runs. Jones and Aly White pace the team in RBIs with seven while Jones also leads the team in runs scored with seven.
 
In the circle, the Golden Suns have a team ERA of 3.50 and have struck out 42 batters in 54.0 innings of work.
 
A total of four pitchers have appeared in at least four games with Aly White and Ainslee Moore making multiple starts this season. Jenny Shank has made a start and appeared three other times in relief. Emily Richarde has made all four of her appearances in relief.
 
White is currently 3-1 and has posted a 1.67 ERA and struck out 10 in 21.0 innings of work. Moore is 1-0 with a 4.85 ERA and has 14 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. Leading the Golden Suns is Jordon Jones. In her fourth season as head coach of the Golden Suns, Jones has amassed an 85-77 record at Tech. Prior to coming to Tech, Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 239-156.

SCOUTING QUINCY
Quincy is off to a 1-3 start to their season after their first weekend of play in the Music City Invitational. In that opening weekend, Quincy beat split with Kentucky Wesleyan and lost to Tiffin and Ashland.
 
Entering play against Tech, the Hawks are hitting .250 as a team (27-for-108) with 24 runs scored, six doubles, eight triples and one home run.
 
Makala Koozer currently leads the team in batting average at .444 (4-for-9). Koozer has also provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Hawks and leads the team with a .889 slugging percentage thanks to a pair of triples. Kaidence Dumas paces the team in RBIs with six while Zoozer has scored the most runs with five.
 
In the circle, the Hawks have a team ERA of 6.16 and have struck out 16 batters in 25.0 innings of work.
 
Kaidence Dumas, Emma Stieferman and Haley Martin have all started a game for Quincy early on. Martin is the only one to have made multiple starts. She is 1-1 with a 7.70 ERA and has five strikeouts in 10.0 innings. Stieferman is 0-1 with a 7.64 ERA and has five strikeouts in 3.2 innings. SCOUTING NEBRASKA-KEARNEY
Nebraska-Kearney is off to a 5-4 start to their season. Last weekend, the Lopers went 2-2 playing in the Wildcat Dome Triangular. UNK would beat Chadron State twice, but fell to Wayne State twice.
 
Entering play this weekend, the Lopers are hitting .285 as a team (68-for-239) with 39 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and three home runs.
 
Daniella Morillas currently leads the team in batting average at .440 (11-for-25). Bailey Peterson has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Lopers and leads the team with a .708 slugging percentage thanks to a double, two triples and a home run. She also leads the team in RBIs with 10 while Mary Chvatal leads the team in runs scored with eight.
 
In the circle, the Lopers have a team ERA of 2.80 and have struck out 36 batters in 60.0 innings of work.
 
Zakayia Fredrick, Chloe Odle, Jerzie Schindler, Teilar Fry and Kalli Ulven have all started a game for UNK. Fredrick and Schindler are the only ones with multiple starts with three apiece. SCOUTING PITTSBURG STATE
Pittsburg State is off to a 9-0 start to their season. Last weekend, the Gorillas breezed through the Southern Colorado Crossover and picked up five wins. They would beat Colorado-Colorado Springs in their opening game of the weekend and then took two games apiece from Adams State and Colorado State-Pueblo.
 
Entering play this weekend, the Gorillas are hitting .377 as a team (98-for-260) with 80 runs scored, 11 doubles, four triples and five home runs.
 
Heather Arnett currently leads the team in batting average at .538 (21-for-39). Sailor Hall has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Gorillas and leads the team with an .824 slugging percentage thanks to a double and two home runs. Kadyn Trochim is leading the team in RBIs with 17 while Arnett lead the team in runs scored with 16.
 
In the circle, the Gorillas have a team ERA of 1.57 and have struck out 51 batters in 58.0 innings of work.
 
Ava Laurent, Lexi Franklin, Sailor Hall and Emma Crabb have all started a game for Pitt State with Hall, Franklin and Laurent having started multiple games. Truman State is off to a 2-4 start to their season after their first weekend of play in the Alvy Early Memorial Classic. In that opening weekend, Truman State beat East Central and St. Mary's, but lost to Arkansas-Monticello, Emporia State, Northwest Missouri and Washburn.
 
Entering play this weekend, the Bulldogs are hitting .285 as a team (41-for-144) with 22 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and three home runs.
 
Cassie Smith currently leads the team in batting average at .500 (10-for-20). She has also provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bulldogs and leads the team with an .800 slugging percentage thanks to a double, a triple and a home run. Smith also leads the team in RBIs with five and runs scored with four.
 
In the circle, the Bulldogs have a team ERA of 3.72 and have struck out 18 batters in 37.2 innings of work.
 
Jayda Long, Madison Kluever and Lydia Feiste have all started a game for Truman State. Long and Kluever have multiple starts early on. Kluever is 0-2 with a save and a 4.45 ERA. She has seven strikeouts in 11.0 innings. Long is 2-0 with a 1.95 ERA and has five strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
