RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Tucker Coliseum is expected to be the place to be on Thursday night as rivalry night in the Great American Conference brings Harding to town for a showdown of a pair of teams currently tied for first place in the conference standings.
 
This will be the 88th meeting all-time between Tech and Harding. The series began in 1984 and has been played as conference rivals since. The Golden Suns currently hold a 64-23 record in the series.
 
Tip-off for the Harding game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 12-2 overall and 8-2 in the GAC. They are coming off a 96-71 win at home against Southeastern Oklahoma this past Saturday. Overall, the Golden Suns have won six-straight and eight of their last nine games.
 
Statistically, the Golden Suns average 83.6 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 69.4 ppg to rank 10th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .448 (409-of-913) to rank first in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .421 mark (343-of-841) to rank 11th.
 
From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .310 (100-of-323) to rank seventh and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .355 clip (92-of-259) to rank 12th. At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .759 (252-of-332) to rank seventh.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have three players scoring in double figures. Logan Young leads the way at 17.4 ppg followed by AbbiGrace Cunningham at 12.1 ppg. Perina Leime rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.9 ppg. Two other players are averaging at least 8.1 ppg.
 
Dessie Lancaster leads the team in rebound average at 6.5 rpg. In terms of assists, Shalyn Lyle leads the team at 3.1 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Lyle at 1.6 spg. Young leads the team in blocks at 1.1 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 375-155 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BISONS
Harding is 14-2 overall and are 8-2 in the GAC. They have won six-straight games, all in conference play, and are ranked No. 12 in the latest WBCA DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday. Their most-recent game was a 59-52 win at home against East Central this past Saturday.
 
Statistically, the Lady Bisons average 70.1 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Lady Bisons rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 61.6 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lady Bisons are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .409 (387-of-946) and are allowing their opponents a .396 mark (379-of-958) to rank seventh.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Lady Bisons shoot at a clip of .321 (100-of-312) to rank fifth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .306 (95-of-310) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Lady Bisons shoot .802 as a team (247-of-308) to rank first.
 
Individually, the Lady Bisons have five players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Josie Williams and her 11.9 ppg. Kori Sanders is next at 11.5 ppg followed by Maddi Holt at 11.2 ppg. Kennedy Stout is next at 11.1 ppg while Allie Rehl rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.8 ppg.
 
Stout is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Williams leads the team and is averaging 3.9 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Lady Bisons are led in steals by Sanders at 2.4 steals per game and in blocks by Stout at 2.3 blocks per game.
 
The Lady Bisons are coached by Tim Kirby, who is in his 21st season at Harding. In his time at Harding, Kirby is 415-185.
