FIRST SERVE
With the final non-conference weekend in the rearview, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team will turn their attention to the remainder of their Great American Conference schedule, starting with a road match at Southern Arkansas on Tuesday, September 23.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the match at 5-6 overall and 1-0 in the GAC. This past weekend, the Golden Suns took part in the Bettye Wallace Classic and went 1-2 with a win against Missouri Southern on Saturday evening.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 12.8 kills/set and have a .208 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 85 kills and are led by Henley Hooks and her 110 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .349 (89k-189att-23err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 90 assists with Jankowski currently leading the team with 159.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 15.7 digs/set and 1.9 blocks per set. Samantha Wojtowicz leads the team in digs with 163. Erika Hernandez currently leads the team in blocks with 34.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Hannah Wuest. She is in her first year as head coach at Tech and has a 5-6 record.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
The Muleriders are off to a 4-9 start to their season and are 0-1 in GAC play. This past weekend, SAU took part in the Harding Tournament and went 1-2. The Muleriders would win their first match, 3-2, over Crowley's Ridge, but dropped their next two against Arkansas-Fort Smith and Trevecca Nazarene.
                                                                                                                              
Coming into play against Tech, the Muleriders are averaging 11.8 kills/set and have a .167 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 60 kills and are led in kills by Brinklee Dauenhauer with 111. Allie Cooper has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .276 (67k-181att-17err).
 
The Muleriders have split time at setter between Hayden Pinard and Jaci Moore. The two have combined for 425 of the team's 525 assists. Pinard currently has a lead in the category with 241 while Moore has 184.
 
Defensively the Muleriders are averaging 16.9 digs/set and 1.5 blocks per set. Sadie Kabisch leads the team in digs with 284. Six different Muleriders have registered double-digit blocks thus far with Jessica Porten leading the way with 33.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Muleriders is Alli Harrell. She is in her fourth year at her alma mater. In her time at SAU, Harrell is 37-56.
