DENTON, Texas – The Arkansas Tech volleyball team put together an all-around sensational match on Friday night against Southern New Hampshire as they dominated in all facets in their 3-0 sweep.
Early in the season, the Golden Suns set a season-high for attack percentage (.457) and for kills in a three-set match (48). They would commit just six attack errors for the entire match while sending home 16 kills as a team in all three sets.
The Golden Suns also held Southern New Hampshire to 14 total kills for the match. The most kills in a set for the Penmen was six, in the final set.
17 players saw action in the match for the Golden Suns and 11 had at least one kill. Four had at least five kills and
Erika Hernandez and
Millie Allgood had double-digit kills. Hernandez led the team with 16 while Allgood had 10. Allgood also notched her first double-double of the season as she had 10 digs.
The Golden Suns will now prepare for a pair of matches tomorrow to close out the Denton Volleyfest. Their first match will be at 11:30 a.m. against host, Texas Woman's and their second match will be at 4:30 p.m. against UT Tyler.
