RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech softball team concluded the regular season portion of their season at home against Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. Tech would drop the game 4-2.
Despite the loss, the Golden Suns are still destined for the Great American Conference Tournament this coming weekend. Tech will be the No. 6-seed and are slated to play the No. 3-seeded team on Thursday, May 1. That game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. from Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Ark.
At the time of this release, Harding was positioned in the No. 3 slot with a 21-12 conference record, but the No. 3-seed could end up being Southern Nazarene, who has yet to complete a game in their series. SNU comes into the weekend 18-12 and can tie Harding's record with a sweep in their series with Arkansas-Monticello.
If they do so, Southern Nazarene will claim the No. 3-seed by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker as SNU won the conference series over Harding, 2-1, this past weekend.
Prior to the game, the Golden Suns honored the 11 seniors on this year's team. Those that were honored were:
Bradi Basler,
Maycie Hardy,
Kacie Gibbins,
Alexis Findley,
Lillee Mahan,
Sadie Turner,
