FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to hit the road and put their season-high eight-game winning streak on the line this Tuesday afternoon where they will play a doubleheader at No. 8-ranked Rogers State.
The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. from RCB Bank Sports Complex in Claremore, Okla.
The Golden Suns and Hillcats have met 16 times historically in a series that started in 2006. In terms of the all-time series record, Tech holds an 8-7-1 lead over Rogers.
The two teams last met back in 2023 and played three times. Rogers would win two of those three meetings.
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the mid-week doubleheader at Rogers State with an overall record of 22-15. Most-recently, the Golden Suns swept the weekend series at home against Ouachita Baptist.
Entering play, the Golden Suns are hitting .285 as a team (277-for-971) with 176 runs scored, 62 doubles, eight triples and 12 home runs.
Kacie Gibbins currently leads the team in batting average at .342 (39-for-114).
Gibbins also has the highest slugging percentage on the team at .500 thanks to 13 doubles, a triple and a home run. Additionally,
Gibbins is one of six players that have double-digit RBIs and one of six with double-digit runs scored. Her 21 RBIs are third on the team behind
Anna Winkfield's 22 and
Caroline Wilhelm's 29. In terms of runs scored,
Gibbins' 22 runs are second behind
Maycie Hardy's 28

Bradi Basler,
Alexis Findley and
Aly White have appeared in at least 16 games and made at least five starts.
Findley has the most starts with 19, followed by
Basler with 11 and
White with five.
Aidan Dayberry has also made two starts and has six other appearances in relief.
Ainslee Moore has made two relief appearances for Tech as part of their five-person pitching staff.
Findley is currently 9-6 and has posted a 2.51 ERA and struck out 113 in 106.0 innings of work.
Basler is 6-5 with a 4.71 ERA and has 49 strikeouts in 49.0 innings.
White is 5-2 with a 2.30 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 67.0 innings.
Leading the Golden Suns is
Jordon Jones. In her third season as head coach of the Golden Suns,
Jones has amassed a 76-57 record at Tech and twice led the team to the conference tournament. Prior to coming to Tech,
Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 230-136.
SCOUTING ROGERS STATE
Rogers State is 25-10 overall and are ranked No. 8 nationally according to the latest NFCA Division II Top-25 poll released on March 25 (an updated poll is scheduled to be released just prior to first-pitch of the doubleheader). The Hillcats are coming off a weekend in which they went 1-3 across a pair of doubleheaders at home against No. 25 Pittsburg State and Central Missouri.
Entering play against Tech, the Hillcats are hitting .321 as a team (314-for-979) with 213 runs scored, 64 doubles, four triples and 43 home runs.
Abby Rogers currently leads the team in batting average at .500 (55-for-110).
Rogers is also pacing the club in slugging percentage at .827 thanks to 13 doubles, a triple and and seven home runs. Additionally,
Reed is the team-leader in RBIs with 37 and is one of eight with double-digit runs driven in. Eight Hillcats have scored double-digit runs with
Kaylee Lyon leading the team with 41.
