RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team played their final game of the 2024-25 season on Saturday afternoon at home against Southern Arkansas. The Golden Suns would come up short in the game, losing to SAU, 68-60.
As the regular season finale, the Golden Suns enjoyed one last performance from their trio of seniors in
Olivia Jones,
Julie Wagner and
Andie Zylak. All three started the game for the Golden Suns and combined for 30 points.
Wagner, a four-year member of the team, played all 40 minutes and scored a team-high 16 points. The Humbolt, Tenn. native ended her career as a Golden Sun with 103 games played and 533 points for a 5.2 ppg average. She also nearly hauled in 500 career rebounds and averaged 4.8 per game in her four years.
In her final season, Wagner put forth single-season highs in points (232), points per game (9.3), rebounds (184), rebounds per game (7.4), assists (35), field goals made (94), field goals attempted (206), field goal percentage (.456), free throws made (44), free throws attempted (59) and free throw percentage (.746).
Jones and Zylak each played just this one season in the Green and Gold, but were solid contributors in their short amount of time.
Jones would play and start in all 26 games and was the go-to deep threat for the team as she ended up making 49 three-point shots, which were tied for the fourth-most in the conference. Zylak also played in all 26 games and made 22 starts. She would lead the team in assists (80) and steals (41). and ranked in the top-10 of the GAC in both categories as well.
