The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to play their second full weekend of games as they will take part in the 2025 Alvy Early Memorial Classic.

The Golden Suns are slated to take on McKendree and preseason No. 1-ranked UT Tyler on Friday and then Newman and Northwest Missouri on Saturday.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter this weekend with an overall record of 4-3 after they dropped both ends of their doubleheader against preseason No. 7-ranked Augustana at home this past Tuesday.

McKendree is off to a 3-1 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, McKendree beat Ohio Dominican, 9-6, Ashland, 6-3 and Ceaderville, 8-0, but lost to Trevecca Nazarene, 10-3.

Entering play against Tech, the Bearcats are hitting .302 as a team (29-for-96) with 26 runs scored, five doubles, four triples and no home runs.

Laynee Tapp currently leads the team in batting average at .667 (4-for-6).
Tapp also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bearcats and leads the team with a .833 slugging percentage thanks to a double to go along with her three singles.
