FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to play their second full weekend of games as they will take part in the 2025 Alvy Early Memorial Classic.
The Golden Suns are slated to take on McKendree and preseason No. 1-ranked UT Tyler on Friday and then Newman and Northwest Missouri on Saturday.
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter this weekend with an overall record of 4-3 after they dropped both ends of their doubleheader against preseason No. 7-ranked Augustana at home this past Tuesday.
Entering play this weekend, the Golden Suns are hitting .258 as a team (46-for-178) with 36 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple and no home runs.
Sadie Turner currently leads the team in batting average at .500 (9-for-18).
Turner has also provided the most power production thus far with a .556 slugging percentage thanks to a double to go along with her eight singles.
Caroline Wilhelm paces the team in RBIs with nine while
Kacie Gibbins is one off that mark with eight.
Maycie Hardy leads the team in runs scored with eight.

Bradi Basler,
Alexis Findley and
Aly White have appeared in four games with
Basler and
Findley making multiple starts this season.
Findley has the most starts with four.
Aidan Dayberry has also made an appearance in relief for Tech as part of their four-person pitching staff.
Findley is currently 2-1 and has posted a 2.58 ERA and struck out 20 in 19.0 innings of work.
Basler is 2-2 with a 5.36 ERA and has 15 strikeouts in 15.2 innings.
Leading the Golden Suns is
Jordon Jones. In her third season as head coach of the Golden Suns,
Jones has amassed a 58-48 record at Tech and twice led the team to the conference tournament. Prior to coming to Tech,
Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 211-124.
SCOUTING McKENDREE
McKendree is off to a 3-1 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, McKendree beat Ohio Dominican, 9-6, Ashland, 6-3 and Ceaderville, 8-0, but lost to Trevecca Nazarene, 10-3.
Entering play against Tech, the Bearcats are hitting .302 as a team (29-for-96) with 26 runs scored, five doubles, four triples and no home runs.
Laynee Tapp currently leads the team in batting average at .667 (4-for-6).
Tapp also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bearcats and leads the team with a .833 slugging percentage thanks to a double to go along with her three singles.
Lauren Harris paces the team in RBIs with six.
In the circle, the Bearcats have a team ERA of 3.77 and have struck out 26 batters in 26.0 innings of work.
Sami Huck,
Paige McAllister and
Ellie Vetter have all started a game for McKendree early on.

Preseason No. 1-ranked UT Tyler is off to a 5-0 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, UT Tyler allowed just three runs and recorded four shutouts.
Entering play against Tech, the Patriots are hitting .353 as a team (42-for-119) with 34 runs scored, 13 doubles, four triples and three home runs.
Sam Schott currently leads the team in batting average at .615 (8-for-13).
Bailey Krolczyk has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Patriots and leads the team with a 1.125 slugging percentage thanks to two doubles, a triple and two home runs. She is also tied for second on the team in RBIs with six as
Schott paces the team in RBIs with eight.

Newman is off to an 0-4 start to their season after their first weekend of play. In that opening weekend, Newman played Maryville, Northwestern Oklahoma, Southern Nazarene and Arkansas-Monticello.
Entering play against Tech, the Jets are hitting .206 as a team (21-for-102) with nine runs scored, four doubles, no triples and no home runs.
Gianna Navarro currently leads the team in batting average at .417 (5-for-12). She also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Jets and leads the team with a .500 slugging percentage thanks to a double to go along with her four singles. She is also tied with five other players in RBIs with one.

Entering play against Tech, the Bearcats are hitting .268 as a team (37-for-138) with 17 runs scored, five doubles, two triples and two home runs.
Skylar Pieper currently leads the team in batting average at .500 (6-for-12). She also has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bearcats and leads the team with a .833 slugging percentage thanks to a double and a home run.
