FIRST PITCH
Originally slated to play five games over three days this weekend at the 2025 Raising Cane's Softball Festival, inclement weather in the greater Oklahoma City area has adjusted the schedule to where the Arkansas Tech softball team is now only playing two games at the festival on Friday, nothing on Saturday and then returning home for a doubleheader against Northeastern State on Sunday.

On Friday, the Golden Suns are slated to take on Washburn at 11 a.m. and then No. 13-ranked Central Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. Both games will take place at the Gerry Pinkston Stadium on the campus of UCO.

On Sunday, the Golden Suns will be at home for a doubleheader against Northeastern State. That twin-bill is scheduled for a Noon start.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter this weekend with an overall record of 5-6 after they went 1-3 last weekend at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic. The Golden Suns would fall to McKendree, 3-2, No. 1-ranked UT Tyler 5-1 and Newman, 6-3 before beating Northwest Missouri, 9-6, to close out the weekend.

Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 212-127.

SCOUTING WASHBURN
Washburn is off to a 5-4 start to their season after going 2-2 this past weekend at the Avly Early Memorial Classic. In that weekend of action, Washburn lost to Upper Iowa and Missouri-St. Louis by scores of 6-4. They would also beat Southeastern Oklahoma, 6-2 and Illinois-Springfield, 13-0.

Entering play against Tech, the Ichabods are hitting .309 as a team (79-for-256) with 54 runs scored, 16 doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Alexis Tanguma currently leads the team in batting average at .483 (14-for-29).
Tanguma also leads the team in slugging percentage at .621 thanks to four doubles to go along with her 10 singles.

SCOUTING NO. 13 CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
No. 13-ranked Central Oklahoma is off to a 7-1 start to their season after going 3-1 this past weekend at UCO-Oklahoma Christian Classic. At the classic, UCO beat Western New Mexico, 11-3, Missouri S&T, 10-2 and Southern Nazarene, 3-0. Their lone loss was a 12-7 setback against Oklahoma Baptist.

Entering play against Tech, the Bronchos are hitting .350 as a team (72-for-206) with 60 runs scored, 10 doubles, seven triples and six home runs.

Brooklyn Ryan currently leads the team in batting average at .455 (10-for-22).
Terin Ritz has provided the biggest power threat thus far for the Bronchos and leads the team with a .950 slugging percentage thanks to three doubles, two triples and one home run. She is also leading the team in RBIs with 15. Three players have scored double-digit runs and are led by Rylee Lemos and her 12 runs scored.

Northeastern State is off to a 4-4 start to their season after going 3-1 this past weekend at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic. At the classic, Northeastern State beat Missouri-St. Louis, Truman State and William Jewell, outscoring those three, 35-16. Their lone loss was a 3-0 defeat against Southern Arkansas.
