FIRST SERVE
For the first time since 2022, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team is back in the Great American Conference Tournament. With a resurgent 11-5 record on league play this season under first-year head coach Hannah Wuest, the Golden Suns earned the No. 4-seed in the conference tournament and will take on No. 5-seed Oklahoma Baptist in the opening round on Thursday.
 
This will be the second match of 2025 between Tech and Oklahoma Baptist. The two teams met just once in the regular season, and it was Arkansas Tech that won the match, 3-0 at home back on October 11.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns ended their regular season with a 15-11 overall record and an 11-5 mark in conference play. Tech lost their final two matched of the regular season with both losses coming against the top-two seeds in the tournament in Ouachita Baptist and Harding.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 13.4 kills/set and have a .214 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 190 kills and are led by Henley Hooks and her 285 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .377 (221k-475att-42err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 250 assists with Kiser currently leading the team with 385.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 17.3 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Samantha Wojtowicz leads the team in digs with 454. Eight different Golden Suns have registered double-digit blocks thus far with four having at least 30.0. Erika Hernandez currently leading the team with 67.0.

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist ended their regular season with a 19-9 overall record and an 11-5 mark in conference play. The Bison are coming off a five-set loss on the road at East Central in the regular season finale on November 13
                                                                                                                              
Coming into play against Tech, the Bison are averaging 13.2 kills/set and have a .226 team attack percentage. They have five players with at least 100 kills and are led in kills by Rylee Unruh with 301. Mackenzie Frazee has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .282 (182k-440att-58err).
 
The Bison have split time at setter between Emily Boyer and Madi Barnes. Both have at least 350 assists with Boyer currently leading the team with 637. Boyer has had six matches with 30 or more assists.
