TIPPING OFF
Off to a white-hot start offensively this season, the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team will face its first road test of the year on Wednesday evening as they will take on nearby Arkansas-Fort Smith.

This will be the third-straight year that the Golden Suns and UAFS will have played. The series is tied 1-1.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center on the campus of Arkansas Fort-Smith.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are off to an early 2-0 start to their season and are coming off a 118-56 win at home against Champion Christian this past Monday. It was the second-straight game that the Golden Suns have eclipsed the 100-point mark. That feat was last done in 2013-14 when the Golden Suns scored 100-plus points in each of their first three games of the season.

With two games to their credit, the Golden Suns average 110.0 ppg and are allowing 63.5 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .500 (82-of-164) and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .385 mark (40-of-104).

From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .439 (36-of-82) and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .400 clip (14-of-35). At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .714 (20-of-28).

Individually, the Golden Suns have three players scoring in double figures and five more at 7.0 ppgor higher.
Madelyn Atkins leads the way at 16.0 ppg.
AbbiGrace Cunningham is next at 15.0 ppg while

Hayleigh Wyrick and
Jadah Pickens lead the team at 4.0 apg.

Defensively, the Golden Suns were led in steals by
Logan Young at 2.5 spg.
Young also leads the team in blocks at 1.5 bpg.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 365-153 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Arkansas-Fort Smith is out to an 0-2 start to their season after dropping both of their games on opening weekend as part of the GAC/MIAA Crossover Challenge. UAFS would take on Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas that weekend and fell to UAM 60-45 on Friday and then 79-76 to SAU on Saturday.

Statistically though two games played, the Lions average 60.5 ppg and rank eighth in the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA). On the defensive end of the court, the Lions rank eighth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 69.5 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lions are ninth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .353 (41-of-116) and are allowing their opponents a .397 mark (46-of-116) to rank seventh.

From beyond-the-arc, the Lions shoot at a clip of .213 (20-of-82) to rank 11th in the MIAA while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .444 (16-of-36) to rank 13th. From the free throw line, the Lions shoot .569 as a team (29-of-51) to rank 10th.

Telisha Brown and her 22.5 ppg.

Layne Kirkendoll is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 5.0 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,

Keytonna Ross lead the team and are averaging 2.5 assists per game.

Kirkendoll at 1.5 blocks per game.

Ryan McAdams, who is in his fifth season at Arkansas-Fort Smith. In his time at UAFS,
