The Arkansas Tech volleyball team has an opportunity to pull a match closer to the top of the Great American Conference standings on Tuesday night as they will be on the road at league-leading Ouachita Baptist. Ouachita is currently two matches ahead of Tech in the standings entering this match.
 
This will be the second match of the 2025 regular season between Tech and Ouachita Baptist. The initial meeting came back on September 30, and Ouachita won the match, 3-1.
 
That match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will have live stats and video available with both links being found at: www.ArkansasTechSports.com/coverage.
 
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the match against Ouachita Baptist 15-9 overall and 11-3 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a 3-2 win at home this past Thursday against Southern Arkansas.
 
At 11-3 in the GAC, the Golden Suns have secured a spot in the upcoming GAC Volleyball Tournament. It will be their first appearance in the conference tournament since 2022. Currently, the Golden Suns are in sole possession of third-place with two matches to go.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 13.6 kills/set and have a .222 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 190 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 260 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .381 (208k-444att-39err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 250 assists with Kiser currently leading the team with 353.

OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita Baptist enters the match with Tech 23-4 overall and are 13-1 in GAC play. The Tigers are coming off a win at home their last time out, beating Arkansas-Monticello, 3-0.
 
At 13-1 in the GAC, the Tigers are currently in first place in the 12-team league standings, but hold just a one-match lead over second-place Harding. With two matches to go in the regular season, the Tigers will be looking to secure at least a share of the GAC Regular Season Championship.
                                                                                                                              
Coming into play against Tech, the Tigers are averaging 13.4 kills/set and have a .232 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 200 kills and are led in kills by Kailey Thedford with 281. Leah Gardner has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .381 (219k-467att-41err).
 
The Tigers have used a primary setter in Courtney Hanson. She currently has 935 of the team's 1,178 assists. Hanson has registered 30 or more assists in a match 19 times this season and 40 our more eight times

The head coach of the Tigers is Allison Frizzell-Kizer. She is in her eighth year at her alma mater, Ouachita Baptist. In her time at Ouachita, Frizzell-Kizer is 130-92.
