FIRST SERVE
The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is back at home this week and will be playing host to Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday, October 23 and then East Central on Friday, October 24.
 
The Southeastern Oklahoma match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Thursday while the East Central match is slated for a 4 p.m. start on Friday.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the weekend at 11-8 overall and 7-2 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a pair of wins on the road last weekend as they beat Southwestern Oklahoma, 3-1, and then swept Northwestern Oklahoma, 3-0. Those two wins have pushed Tech's winning streak to four.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 13.5 kills/set and have a .222 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 145 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 204 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .401 (164k-337att-29err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 200 assists with Kiser currently leading the team with 265.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 17.3 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Samantha Wojtowicz leads the team in digs with 295. Seven different Golden Suns have registered double-digit blocks thus far with four having at least 20.0. Erika Hernandez currently leading the team with 49.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Hannah Wuest. She is in her first year as head coach at Tech and has an 11-8 record.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
Southeastern Oklahoma enters the weekend 7-14 overall and 2-7 in GAC play. The Savage Storm have lost their last three matches and are most-recently coming off a 3-1 loss at home against UT Dallas. Last weekend, Southeastern was at home and went 0-2, losing 3-0 to both Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State.
                                                                                                                              
Coming into play against Tech, the Savage Storm are averaging 12.3 kills/set and have a .187 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 100 kills and are led in kills by Gabby Jones with 184. Maci Morrison has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .312 (139k-353att-29err).
 
The Savage Storm have used a primary setter in Jasmin Dion. She currently has 471 of the team's 778 assists. Dion has registered 30 or more assists in a match five times this season.
 
Defensively the Savage Storm are averaging 17.6 digs/set and 1.9 blocks per set. Gabby Jones leads the team in digs with 200. Seven Savage Storm have registered double-digit blocks thus far with three having at least 25.0. Alexis Williams leads the way with 60.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Savage Storm is Nicole Solum-Mitchell. She is in her seventh year at his Southeastern Oklahoma. In her time at Southeastern, Solum-Mitchell is 49-125.
 
EAST CENTRAL
East Central enters the weekend 7-15 overall and 5-4 in GAC play. They will have played at Harding prior to taking on Tech. Before taking on Harding, the Tigers are coming off a win their last time out, beating Henderson State, 3-1 at home last Friday.
           
Coming into play this weekend, the Tigers are averaging 10.5 kills/set and have a .121 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 100 kills and are led in kills by Faiana Halatoa with 175. Paula Ramos has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .182 (67k-209att-29err).
 
The Tigers have used a primary setter in Emily Pena. She currently has 356 of the team's 766 assists. White has registered 30 or more assists in a match three times this season.
 
Defensively the Tigers are averaging 16.3 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Valentina Tijerina leads the team in digs with 306. Eight Tigers have registered double-digit blocks thus far with four having at least 25.0. Kensington White leads the way with 73.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Tigers is Danielle Essix. She is in her third year at her alma mater. In her time at ECU, Essix is 39-44.
