TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team returns home for their first game in Tucker Coliseum in the new calendar year. In their home return, the Golden Suns will be taking on Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday afternoon.

This will be the 21st meeting all-time between Tech and Oklahoma Baptist. The series began in 1984 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2015. The Golden Suns currently hold a 14-6 record in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 3-7 overall and 1-5 in GAC play. Tech has dropped its last four games with the most-recent coming on the road at Ouachita Baptist this past Saturday.

This season, the Golden Suns average 68.0 ppg and rank sixth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 12th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 71.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .411 (255-of-621) and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .387 mark (252-of-651) to rank sixth.

Hayleigh Wyrick and

Dave Wilbers, who is in his 18th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 359-140 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 9-3 overall and are 5-1 in conference play. The Bison are coming off a win their last time out, beating Northwestern Oklahoma, 83-70, at home this past Saturday.

Statistically, the Bison average 68.8 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 60.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are ninth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .389 (281-of-722) and are allowing their opponents a .387 mark (258-of-667) to rank fourth.
