TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is set to jump back into their season schedule on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist.
 
This will be the 96th meeting all-time between Tech and Ouachita Baptist. In a series that dates back to 1977, the Golden Suns and Tigers have played one another at least twice in a season throughout the series as conference rivals. The Golden Suns currently hold a 77-18 record in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 3-6 overall and 1-4 in GAC play. Tech has dropped its last three games with the most-recent coming at home against Arkansas-Monticello back on December 19.
 
This season, the Golden Suns average 69.2 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 12th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 70.9 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .409 (232-of-567) and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .378 mark (225-of-595) to rank fourth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .261 (40-of-153) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .315 (64-of-203) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .647 as a team (119-of-184) to rank 10th.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have two players averaging double figures and are led by Julie Wagner at 11.6 ppg. Hayleigh Wyrick is next at 10.6 ppg. Three other Golden Suns are averaging at least 7.7 ppg.
 
Wagner also leads the team in rebounds with 7.3 rpg. In terms of assists, Andie Zylak leads the team with 3.3 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Zylak at 1.6 spg and in blocks by Wagner at 1.1 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 18th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 359-139 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Ouachita Baptist is 4-5 overall and are 0-5 in conference play. The Tigers won their final regular season game ahead of the Christmas break in non-conference action against Arkansas-Fort Smith on a last-second shot, 66-65. They will also be coming off a 95-83 exhibition win against Williams Baptist on December 31.
 
Statistically, the Tigers average 65.1 ppg and rank eighth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Tigers rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 59.9 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Tigers are second in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .447 (225-of-503) and are allowing their opponents a .359 mark (178-of-496) to rank second.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Tigers shoot at a clip of .387 (58-of-150) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .303 (61-of-201) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Tigers shoot .709 as a team (78-of-110) to rank seventh.
 
Individually, the Tigers have one player averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Madeline Tipton at 14.6 ppg. Three other Tigers are averaging at least 8.2 ppg.
 
Brooke Smith is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Heidi Robinson leads the team and is averaging 2.4 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Tigers are led in steals by Smith at 1.0 steals per game and in blocks by Abbey Harrison at 0.8 blocks per game.
 
The Tigers are coached by Kiley Hill, who is in his first season at Ouachita Baptist and his 23rd overall. At Ouachita, Hill is 4-5 and is 331-304 overall.
