The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is set for an early test in the conference schedule on Thursday night as they put their unbeaten GAC record on the line against fellow unbeaten in league play, Southern Arkansas.
 
The match, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. from Tucker Coliseum, will also be Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night and the Golden Suns will honor those members of the ATU community prior to and throughout the match.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 7-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They are coming off a thrilling five-set win on the road at Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday. In that match, the Golden Suns staved off match-point three times in the fourth set to force a fifth and ripped off a huge run in that final set to gain a lead they would not relinquish.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 12.2 kills/set and have a .192 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 100 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 160 kills. Jordon Clouse has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .296 (56k-135att-16err).
 
The Golden Suns have settled on their primary setter with Emma Kiser pacing the offense. Kiser's assist total now stands at 404. Since taking over as primary setter, Kiser has had 30 or more assists in a match eight times.

The Muleriders are 8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Entering the match at Tech, SAU is riding an eight-match winning streak as their last loss came in the opening day of the season back on September 6.
 
Offensively, the Muleriders are averaging 12.2 kills/set and have a .210 team attack percentage. They have five players with at least 50 kills and are led by Kayte Delong and her 102 kills. Isla Olivas has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .290 (66k-169att-17err).
 
The Muleriders have split time at setter between Macie Shaver and Ava Tanner. The two have combined for 359 of the team's 400 assists. Shaver currently leads the team with 183 assists while Tanner has 176.
