RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is set to play rival Harding for the second time in less than a week as the two will meet in the opening round of the 2024 Great American Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament on Thursday.
In the matchup, the Golden Suns will be the No. 4-seeded team and Harding will be the No. 5-seeded team after Tech received the dual win over Harding last week, 4-3, as a lineup protest by Tech was validated by the league office and its chief tennis official following the match.
The Golden Suns enter their match against Harding 7-9 overall and ended their conference season 2-3. Harding enters the match with Tech with an overall record of 13-8 and ended their conference season with a 2-3 mark.
This will be the 55th match all-time between Tech and Harding in a series that dates back to 1993. Harding currently leads the series, 41-13, over Tech.
This year's tournament will be held at the Memorial Park Tennis Complex in Bentonville, Arkansas and will be played from Thursday, April 25 – Saturday, April 27.
First-serve against the Lady Bisons is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
