FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech softball team is set to complete their conference series against Harding on Tuesday as they will travel to Searcy to take on the Lady Bisons.
 
The single-game is scheduled to start 4 p.m. from the Harding Softball Field.
 
The Golden Suns and Lady Bisons have met 37 times historically in a series that started in 2014. In terms of the all-time series record, Arkansas Tech holds a 20-17 lead over Harding.
 
The two teams met twice already this season with a conference doubleheader being played in Russellville back on March 12. Harding swept doubleheader to claim the series over Tech with Tuesday's game still to play.
 
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enters Tuesday's game on the road at Harding with an overall record of 22-16 and a 14-12 mark in conference play. This past weekend, the Golden Suns picked up a pivotal series win on the road at East Central. In that series, the Golden Suns were able to bounce back from a walk-off defeat in the opener on Friday and sweep the Saturday doubleheader to claim the series.
 
Entering play against Harding, the Golden Suns are hitting .250 as a team (247-for-989) with 162 runs scored, 51 doubles, seven triples and nine home runs.
 
Shelby Chavers currently leads the team in batting average at .310 (31-for-100). Maycie Hardy has provided the most power production thus far with a .474 slugging percentage thanks to seven doubles and three home runs. Lexi Gorniak and Sydney Keaton are tied for the team-lead in RBIs with 17 each while Chavers leads the team in runs scored with 21. Six other Golden Suns have scored double-digit runs and driven in double-digit runs.
 
Hardy leads the team in home runs with three while Sydney Keaton and Savannah Snow are right behind with two apiece. The other two homers on the team have come from Lexi Gorniak and Aidan Gorton.
 
In the circle, the Golden Suns have a team ERA of 2.98 and have struck out 183 batters in 256.0 innings of work.
 
Bradi Basler, Aidan Dayberry and Alexis Findley have made multiple starts this season with Basler having the most with 15. Dayberry and Findley are next with 11. Jaycee McKee and Ella Thornley have also made appearances in relief for Tech as part of their five-person pitching staff.
 
Basler is currently 7-4 and has posted a 3.39 ERA and struck out 65 in 74.1 innings of work. Findley has the lowest ERA among the starters at 2.47. She is currently 3-5 with 60 strikeouts in 73.2 innings of work. Dayberry is 6-3 with a 3.37 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 54.0 innings.
 
Leading the Golden Suns is Jordon Jones. In her second season as head coach of the Golden Suns, Jones is looking to build off her first year in which Tech posted a 28-24 overall record and were 17-15 in the Great American Conference. Prior to coming to Tech, Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 203-114.
 
SCOUTING HARDING
Harding enters this conference game against Tech with a 28-13 overall record and an 18-8 mark in conference play. The Lady Bisons are coming off a series win on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma this past weekend and are on a modest two-game winning streak.
 
With two weekends left of conference play, the Lady Bisons have already secured a spot in the upcoming GAC Tournament.
 
Entering play against Tech, the Lady Bisons are hitting .309 as a team (346-for-1,119) with 214 runs scored, 39 doubles, 15 triples and 23 home runs.
 
Macy Ham currently leads the team in batting average at .424 (61-for-144). Jordan Cabana is the top overall power threat as she paces the team with a .653 slugging percentage thanks to five doubles, two triples and seven home runs. Her 40 RBIs lead the team. Behind Cabana in those power categories is Emma Curry as she has eight home runs and 35 RBIs.
 
In the circle, the Lady Bisons have a team ERA of 2.88 and have struck out 141 batters in 277.1 innings of work.
 
The Lady Bisons have predominantly split their starting pitching duties between Riley Price and Abby Burch. Price has started 23 games while Burch has started 16. Both have also made several relief appearances with Price making 12 and Burch making 16. Each also have three saves.
 
Price is 15-8 with a 2.68 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 138.1 innings of work. Burch is 12-5 with a 3.05 ERA and has 55 strikeouts in 105.2 innings.
 
The Lady Bisons are led by Ashley Reeves, who in his third season at Harding and fifth overall. In her time at Harding, Reeves is 112-45 and carries an overall record of 143-79.
