RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team will remain on the road for their second-straight conference match as they are at Henderson State this Thursday.
The Golden Suns enter their match at Henderson State 6-7 overall and 1-1 in GAC play. Most-recently, the Golden Suns dropped their first conference match of the season at No. 11-ranked Southern Arkansas. The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for the Golden Suns.
Henderson State enters the match against Tech 9-7 overall and are 0-1 in GAC play. The Reddies are currently on a two-match losing streak, but both of their losses have come against nationally-ranked opponents in then-ranked No. 15 West Florida and then-ranked No. 11 Southern Arkansas.
Their most-recent match with SAU, was a narrow 4-3 loss at home.
This will be the 63rd match all-time between Tech and Henderson State in a series that dates back to 1993. The two teams met previously this season in a non-conference match in which Henderson State won, 6-1. Arkansas Tech, however, currently leads the series, 37-25, over Henderson.
First-serve against the Reddies is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
