RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is set to play a pair of matches at home this weekend as they welcome in Louisiana Christian for a non-conference match on Friday and open Great American Conference action on Saturday against Ouachita Baptist.
The Golden Suns enter the weekend 4-6 overall and are coming off consecutive wins as they beat Collin County Community College, 6-1, and Tyler Junior College, 4-3 last week during Spring Break.
Louisiana Christian enters the match against Tech 4-8 overall and have lost six-straight matches. Their most-recent match came on the road at Ouachita Baptist. LCU would lose that match, 5-2
This will be the first match ever between Tech and Louisiana Christian.
First-serve against the Wildcats is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday morning.
Tech's second opponent on the weekend, Ouachita Baptist enters the match 6-9 overall and have won their last two matches. Most-recently, the Tigers beat Louisiana Christian at home 5-2
This will be the 50
th match all-time between Tech and Ouachita in a series that dates back to 1993. Arkansas Tech currently leads the series, 34-15, over Ouachita.
First-serve against the Tigers is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.
