RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is on the road this weekend in the state of Texas where they will play a match against Collin County Community College on Friday, March 22 and Tyler Junior College on Saturday, March 23.
The Golden Suns enter the weekend 2-6 overall and are coming off a 6-1 loss at home against then No.-29 ranked Missouri Western.
Collin County enters the match against Tech 6-16 overall and have lost four-straight matches. The Cougars, who are the No. 7-ranked JUCO team according to the latest ITA National Rankings (March 7, 2024) have played three other GAC teams earlier this season against Harding, Southern Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist. All three of the GAC foes have beaten Collin County
This will be the first match ever between Tech and Collin County.
First-serve against the Cougars is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
Tech's second opponent on the weekend, Tyler Junior College enters the match 5-1 overall are the No. 4-ranked team in JUCO according to the latest ITA National Rankings (March 7, 2024). Most-recently, the Apaches are coming off a 9-0 win over Collin County.
This will be the first match ever between Tech and Tyler JC.
First-serve against the Apaches is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.
