RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team will play a pair of matches in consecutive days starting first with a home match against Blue Mountain College on Sunday, March 3 and follow with a road match at Hendrix on Monday, March 4.
The Golden Suns enter the slate of matches 0-4. Most-recently the Golden Suns played a pair of high-quality in-region teams at a neutral site in Arkadelphia. At the site, the Golden Suns took on No. 24-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State. The Golden Suns were competitive in both matches, but ultimately fell 5-2 in each.
From the NAIA ranks, Blue Mountain College enters the Sunday match with Tech 1-1. Their win came in their spring opener against Goshen College while their loss came against Christian Brothers.
Hendrix will have played a match two days prior to taking on Tech, but will enter that match 1-3 on the season. After winning their season-opener against the University of the Ozarks, the Warriors have lost their last three. Two of those losses have come against Great American Conference members in Harding and Henderson State.
This will be the first-ever match between Tech and Blue Mountain College while the match with Hendrix will be the 22
nd all-time. Overall, Tech is 13-8 against Hendrix and have won nine-straight in the series.
First-serve against Blue Mountain College on Sunday is scheduled for 2 p.m. while the match with Hendrix is slated for 2 p.m. start time as well on Monday.
