FIRST SERVE
The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is gearing up to play its second Division I opponent in as many matches this spring on Friday as they will travel to Jonesboro to take on Arkansas State. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. from the RidgePointe Tennis Center in Jonesboro.
 
The Golden Suns are coming off a hard-fought 5-2 loss at home in their spring-opener against Central Arkansas on February 7. In that match, the Golden Suns narrowly dropped the doubles point, but rallied for impressive wins at the top-two singles flights for their two points earned in the match.
 
Arkansas State enters the dual match 3-3 this spring. Their last two matches have been played at home where they went 1-1 with a 7-0 win against Lindenwood and then a 4-2 loss to Butler.
 
Friday's match will the second in as many years between the Golden Suns and Red Wolves. The two met for the first time last season and played at a neutral site, Burns Park, in North Little Rock. The Red Wolves won that match 5-2.
