FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech softball team will play their final weekend of non-conference action this weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma at the Raising Cane's Softball Festival, co-hosted by Central Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene.

At the Raising Cane's Softball Festival, the Golden Suns are slated to play five games, all against in-region competition with four hailing from the MIAA.
Ā 
The weekend will start on Friday with Tech playing games against (rv) Missouri Southern and No. 11 Central Oklahoma. Both games will be played at UCO's home ballpark, Gerry Pinkston Stadium. On Saturday, the Golden Suns will move over to Deer Creek High School in Edmond to play Fort Hays State and Washburn. Sunday will see the Golden Suns stay at Deer Creek High School and play just Missouri S&T.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns only had the opportunity to play a pair of games last week at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, but both games turned out to be successful results as Tech won both games, 9-1 in five innings against Truman State and 4-0 against Missouri Western. With that 2-0 weekend, the Golden Suns enter their final non-conference weekend 5-2 overall.

Entering play this weekend, the Golden Suns are hitting .286 as a team (50-for-175) with 44 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples and four home runs.

Dani Lindsey and Savannah Snow currently lead the team in batting average at .500 with Lindsey having 10 hits and Snow one off that pace with nine.

Lindsey also leads the team in doubles (3), triples (2) and RBIs (8). Kaylyn Aguirre leads the team in runs scored with eight. All four of Tech's home runs as a team have come from a different source with Snow, Sydney Keaton, Lexi Gorniak and Maycie Hardy all having left the yard.

In the circle, the Golden Suns have a team ERA of 2.86 and have struck out 37 batters in 44.0 innings of work.

Bradi Basler and Aiden Dayberry have made multiple starts this season with Basler having the most with four. Alexis Findley has also started a game and is second on the team in total appearances with three. Jaycee McKee and Ella Thornley have also made appearances in relief for Tech as part of their five-person pitching staff.

Basler is currently 4-0 and has posted a 1.68 ERA and struck out 24 in 25.0 innings of work.

Leading the Golden Suns is Jordon Jones. In her second season as head coach of the Golden Suns, Jones is looking to build off her first year in which Tech posted a 28-24 overall record and were 17-15 in the Great American Conference. Prior to coming to Tech, Jones had head coaching stops at the NAIA level at Central Baptist in Conway and MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas. Overall, her career record is 187-105.

SCOUTING MISSOURI SOUTHERN
The Lions are off to an 8-2 start to their season through two weekends of action. This past weekend, Missouri Southern went 3-2 at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic, picking up wins against Truman State, Missouri S&T and Southwest Baptist. Their losses came against No. 8 UT Tyler and Illinois-Springfield.

Entering play this weekend, the Lions, who are receiving votes in the latest NFCA Top-25 rankings, are hitting .313 as a team (79-for-252) with 70 runs scored, 12 doubles, four triples and seven home runs.

Taylor Nuckolls currently leads the team in batting average at .417 (10-for-24). Nuckolls also leads the team in triples with two and is tied for the team-lead in RBIs with nine.

Abby DeSanto has been the biggest power threat thus far for the Lions and leads the team with a .933 slugging percentage thanks to three doubles and two home runs. She is tied for the lead in doubles while leading the club in homers.

In the circle, the Lions have a team ERA of 2.30 and have struck out 58 batters in 61.0 innings of work.

Kiki Pickens has seen the most action so far with five appearances and five starts. She is currently the only pitcher among the six that have had more than one start. Pickens is currently 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work.

Leading the Lions is Hallie Blackney, who is in her sixth season as head coach at Missouri Southern. In her time, Blackney is 135-91-1 and twice has guided the Lions to 30 or more wins in a season. This past year, Blackney's Lions won 41 games and hosted a sub-regional at their home facility.

SCOUTING CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
The Bronchos are off to a 4-4 start to their season through two weekends of action. This past weekend, Central Oklahoma went 3-0 at the UCO-OC Classic, picking up wins against then-ranked No. 22 Oklahoma Baptist, Southern Nazarene and Maryville.

Entering play this weekend, the Bronchos, who are ranked No. 11 in the latest NFCA Top-25 rankings, are hitting .271 as a team (55-for-203) with 40 runs scored, 15 doubles, no triples and six home runs.

Jacee Minter currently leads the team in batting average at .429 (9-for-21). Minter also leads the team in RBIs with 10 and is tied for the team-lead in home runs with two. With an .810 slugging percentage, Minter has been the biggest power threat thus far for the Bronchos.

Terin Ritz has also hit two home runs while Rylee Lemos and Emily Deramus have accounted for the other long balls.

In the circle, the Bronchos have a team ERA of 2.80 and have struck out 17 batters in 50.0 innings of work.

Jordyn Pipkin and Terin Ritz have split starting duties down the middle with each having four starts to their credit. Pipkin has logged the most innings in her starts and has pitched 25.0 while Ritz is at 17.2. Pipkin also has the lower ERA at 2.52 compared to Ritz's 3.17. Both have a pair of wins.

Leading the Bronchos is Cody White, who is in his 11th season as head coach at Central Oklahoma. In his time, White is 408-150 and has guided the Bronchos to 30 or more wins in a season nine times (lone exception was COVID-shortened 2020 season). Seven of those years have seen White's Bronchos win 40 or more games with more than 50-plus coming this past year.

SCOUTING FORT HAYS STATE
The Tigers are off to a 5-1 start to their season and have already started play at the Raising Cane's Softball Festival with a pair of games earlier on Thursday. Prior to playing Tech on Saturday, Fort Hays will have played three more games, all of which are against fellow Great American Conference opponents.

Entering play on Friday, the Tigers, are hitting .293 as a team (46-for-157) with 23 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple and one home run.

Loren Beggs currently leads the team in batting average at .471 (8-for-17). She also leads the team in doubles with two, home runs with one and is the top power threat so far with a .765 slugging percentage. Madison Pierce currently paces the team in RBIs with five.

In the circle, the Tigers have a team ERA of 1.08 and have struck out 37 batters in 39.0 innings of work.

Savannah Egger and Morgan Schmidt have split starting duties down the middle with each having three starts to their credit. Egger has logged the most innings in her starts and has pitched 21.0 while Schmidt is at 13.2. Egger also has the lower ERA at 0.33 compared to Schmidt's 2.05. Egger has won all three of her starts while Schmidt is 2-1.

Leading the Tigers is Adrian Pilkington, who is in her 10th season as head coach at Fort Hays State. In her time, Pilkington is 199-248-1.

The Ichabods are off to a 7-2 start to their season through two weekends of action. This past weekend, Washburn went 4-0 at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic, picking up wins against Southwest Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma, then No. 13-ranked Southern Arkansas, and Wayne State.

Entering play this weekend, the Ichabods, who are receiving votes in the latest NFCA Top-25 rankings, are hitting .315 as a team (76-for-241) with 45 runs scored, 16 doubles, one triple and two home runs.

Hailey Neira currently leads the team in batting average at .467 (7-for-15). Jaycee Ginter has been the biggest power threat thus far for the Ichabods with a .654 slugging percentage thanks to two doubles and a home run. Kaylee Wagner has the other home run for the team is pacing the club in RBIs with seven.

In the circle, the Ichabods have a team ERA of 1.07 and have struck out 56 batters in 59.0 innings of work.

Jaycee Ginter and Sadie Walker have split starting duties with Ginter having five to her credit and Walker with four. Ginter has logged the most innings in her starts and has pitched 30.0 while Walker is not far off at 28.0. Walker has the lower ERA at 0.75 compared to Ginter's 1.40. Ginter is 4-1 while Walker is 3-1 with a save.

The Miners are off to a 3-4 start to their season through two weekends of action. This past weekend, Missouri S&T went 1-2 at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic, picking up a win against Central Missouri.

Entering play this weekend, the Miners are hitting .236 as a team (46-for-195) with 27 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples and two home runs.

Ty Neal currently leads the team in batting average at .471 (8-for-17). Trista Grobe has been the biggest power threat thus far for the Miners with a .500 slugging percentage thanks to two doubles and a home run. She also leads the team in RBIs with six.

In the circle, the Miners have a team ERA of 4.14 and have struck out 39 batters in 47.1 innings of work.

Bryn Wooldridge and Charlye Rowland have made multiple starts for the Miners with Wooldrigde having three to her credit and Rowland with two. Wooldrigde has logged the most innings in her starts and has pitched 21.0 while Rowland is not far off at 19.0. Rowland has the lower ERA at 2.21 compared to Wooldridge's 4.67. In terms of win-loss record Wooldridge is 2-1 while Rowland is 1-1.
