TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team jumps back into action on the road on Saturday afternoon and will do so at Southwestern Oklahoma.
 
This will be the 46th meeting all-time between Tech and Southwestern Oklahoma. In a series that dates back to 1987, the Golden Suns and Lady Bulldogs have played one another at least twice in a season since becoming conference rivals in 2011. The Golden Suns currently hold a 24-21 record in the series.
 
Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside the Pioneer Event Center on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 2-3 overall and 0-1 in GAC play after they dropped their conference-opener on the road at Northwestern Oklahoma this past Thursday.
 
This season, the Golden Suns average 70.6 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 12th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 68.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are seventh in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .405 (134-of-331) and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .351 mark (118-of-336) to rank third.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .232 (23-of-99) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .284 (33-of-116) to rank fifth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .590 as a team (62-of-105) to rank 12th.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have two players averaging double figures. Olivia Jones and Julie Wagner lead the team at 10.4 ppg. Three other players are averaging over 7.0 ppg as well.
 
Julie Wagner leads the team in rebounds with 7.4 rpg. In terms of assists, Kamryn Sutterfield leads the team with 2.6 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Jones and Wagner at 1.0 spg each and in blocks by Wagner and Shelly Butler at 0.8 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 18th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 358-136 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma is 4-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play after they lost their league-opener at home to Harding this past Thursday.
 
Statistically, the Lady Bulldogs average 68.5 ppg and rank seventh in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Lady Bulldogs rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 58.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lady Bulldogs are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .407 (148-of-364) and are allowing their opponents a .371 mark (127-of-342) to rank fifth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Lady Bulldogs shoot at a clip of .313 (36-of-115) to rank fourth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .286 (28-of-98) to rank seventh. From the free throw line, the Lady Bulldogs shoot .738 as a team (79-of-107) to rank sixth.
 
Individually, the Lady Bulldogs have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Payton Jones and Averi Zinn with both being at 12.3 ppg. Layni Zinn is next and just off the double-figure pace at 9.8 ppg.
 
Lanie Gooch is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 4.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, A. Zinn leads the team and is averaging 4.0 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Lady Bulldogs are led in steals by a trio of players in A. Zinn, L. Zinn and Hailey Grant at 1.7 steals per game and in blocks by Grant at 0.8 blocks per game.
 
The Lady Bulldogs are coached by Jeff Zinn, who is in his third season at Southwestern Oklahoma. In his time at SWOSU, Zinn is 27-37.
