The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is set to head to the southern part of the Natural State on Thursday to take on Southern Arkansas in an important Great American Conference match.
 
It will be the second of two regular-season meetings between Tech and Southern Arkansas. The Golden Suns won the initial match at home, 3-0, back in late-September.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 13-14 overall and 5-8 in the GAC, currently tied with Henderson State and Southern Nazarene for eighth place in the conference standings. The Golden Suns are also coming off a dominant 3-0 win at home against Arkansas-Monticello this past Monday night.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 12.6 kills/set and have a .200 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 225 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 349 kills. Jordon Clouse has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .345 (127k-293att-26err).
 
The Golden Suns have settled on their primary setter with Emma Kiser pacing the offense. Kiser's assist total now stands at 861. Since taking over as primary setter, Kiser has had 30 or more assists in a match 14 times.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 15.3 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Jamie Myrick leads the team in digs with 466. Sierra Orton currently leads the team in blocks with 76.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Kera Coleman. She is in her seventh year as head coach of her alma mater and eighth overall. In her time at Tech, Coleman is 86-100. Overall, she's 105-112.

The Muleriders are 10-11 overall and 4-9 in GAC play, where they are currently 11th in the standings. They are coming off a 3-0 loss on the road this past Monday at Henderson State.
 
Offensively, the Muleriders are averaging 12.2 kills/set and have a .181 team attack percentage. They have six players with at least 100 kills and are led by Kayte Delong and her 206 kills. Lauryn Moultrie has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .261 (111k-264att-42err).
 
The Muleriders have split time at setter between Macie Shaver and Ava Tanner. The two have combined for 660 of the team's 842 assists. Shaver currently leads the team with 387 assists while Tanner has 273.
 
Defensively the Muleriders are averaging 17.9 digs/set and 2.0 blocks per set. Sadie Kabisch leads the team in digs with 461. Four different Muleriders have registered at least 40 blocks thus far with Isla Olivas leading the way with 73.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Muleriders is Alli (O'Banion) Harrell. She is in her third year as the head coach at her alma mater and currently has a 31-46 career record at SAU.
