RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech volleyball team made quick work of Arkansas-Monticello in their Great American Conference match on Monday as the Golden Suns swept the Cotton Blossoms, 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-17).
In the match, the Golden Suns nearly doubled up UAM in the number of kills as Tech totaled 40 across the three sets compared to the 22 by the Cotton Blossoms. The Golden Suns would have double-digit kill totals in all three sets while holding UAM to single digits on their end.
The Golden Suns also committed just 10 attack errors in the match against 104 total attacks for an attack percentage of .288.
Henley Hooks led the team offensively with 13 kills and went over 275 for the season. She would swing at a clip of .545 as she committed just one error.
Savannah Meyer followed with 11 kills and pushed her season total to 349, giving her the most kills by a Golden Sun since 2016.
Emma Kiser dished out 29 assists.
Jamie Myrick and
Maddi Siedenburg each reached double-digits in digs with Myrick leading the way with 14 while Siedenburg had 10.
The Golden Suns will now prepare to hit the road later this week as they will play at Southern Arkansas on Thursday, November 7. First-serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
