JACKSON, Tenn. – The Arkansas Tech volleyball team concluded the non-conference portion of their schedule on Tuesday night with a sweep of Lane College, 3-0.
The Golden Suns racked up 31 kills in the match and turned in a hitting percentage of .324 as they committed just eight errors on 71 total attacks. Lane on the other end, had a negative hitting percentage as they committed 22 errors with just 21 kills on 86 total attacks.
Each set featured significant runs for the Golden Suns as they had a 6-0 run in the first set, an 11-0 run to close out the second set and a 6-0 run in the third as well.
Six different Golden Suns recorded double-digit kills in the match with
Henley Hooks and
Kaitlyn Neal tying for the match-high with seven.
Savannah Meyer had six kills, while
Sierra Orton totaled four and
Jordan Clouse and
Emma Kiser each had three.
Kiser paced the team in assists with 26 of the team's 29. Four players had at least five digs with
Jamie Myrick leading the way with nine.
As a team, the Golden Suns totaled nine service aces and were led that category by
Kenzie Garrett as she had four.
The Golden Suns will now be able to turn their attention to the remainder of their conference season beginning with a road match at Henderson State this coming Thursday night. First-serve from Arkadelphia is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
