The Great American Conference portion of the 2023 schedule is underway in earnest and on tap for the Arkansas Tech volleyball team is the second of two conference matches this week as Tech will play host to Henderson State this Thursday night inside Tucker Coliseum.

Last season, the Golden Suns and Reddies met twice in the regular season. Each team would win on their home court in the series with Henderson winning 3-2 in mid-September and Tech winning 3-1 in late October.

The Golden Suns enter Thursday night's match vs. Henderson State 1-10 overall and 1-1 in the Great American Conference. Earlier this week on Tuesday night, the Golden Suns played at Southern Arkansas and battled back after dropping the first two sets to nearly force a decisive fifth set against the Muleriders.

Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 10.7 kills/set and have a .148 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 50 kills and are led by
Kaitlyn Neal and her 75 kills.

Henderson State
Henderson comes into Thursday night's match with Tech 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the GAC. In their most-recent match this past Tuesday, the Reddies lost in four set to Harding. The first two sets were closely-contested with Harding and HSU splitting the sets, but Harding then dominated the final two sets to close out the win.

Christiane Uzoh and her 132 kills.
