EDMOND, Okla. - The Arkansas Tech softball team falls in game one on the road to Oklahoma Baptist 0-4. Following today's action, the Golden Suns are 28-21 overall with a 17-13 record against Great American Conference Opponents.
Getting the start in the circle for the game was
Bradi Basler.Â
The Bison would strike the board first in the bottom of the first inning as a three-run homer would quickly give them a 3-0 advantage to begin the game.
Basler would come back in the bottom of the second and control the inning getting three straight hitters in the Bison order out to try and get the offense going in the top of the third.
In the game, the Golden Suns would be held to no hits as the Bison pitching proved to be a tough challenge for Tech.
In the top of the third,
Shelby Chavers would manage to reach first base after the Bison third baseman committed a throwing error giving the Golden Suns a runner on base. Chavers would then advance to second on a wild pitch, but the Bison would manage to collect the final out to send it to the bottom of the third.
In the bottom of the frame, Basler would once again stay in control and get three straight outs on the Bison hitters.Â
To begin the bottom of the fourth inning,
Lexy Taylor would replace Basler in the circle and close out the game there.
The final run of the game would come in the bottom of the fifth inning as a sacrifice flyout to left field would score another run for the Bison giving them a 4-0 lead. That lead would last for the rest of the game as the Golden Suns would fall 0-4 to the Bison in game one of the weekend series.
