RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fresh off their tight 4-3 non-conference road win against Henderson State on Saturday, the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is back in action at home on Monday morning against in-region opponent, Southwest Minnesota State.
First-serve for the match is slated for 10 a.m. out at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex.
Playing one another for the first time, the Golden Suns enter the match 4-3 overall, while the Mustangs are 1-8. Prior to the championship segment of their season in the spring, SMSU played three dual matches in the fall. The Mustangs won their initial match in the fall, beating MSU-Moorhead 5-2, but dropped their next two against Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0, and Minnesota State, 5-2.
In the spring portion of their schedule, the Mustangs are 0-6 and have played a pair of NCAA Division I opponents in Creighton and North Dakota. They have also played a pair of NSIC matches and are 0-2 in those matches, narrowly losing to Sioux Falls, 4-3, and being swept by Augustana, 7-0.
