RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Off to a 2-0 start this spring, the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team is set to hit the road this Saturday and make the short drive east on I-40 to play a pair of matches against former conference foe and current Division I member UCA.
These two teams played one another last season in Conway and the Golden Suns nearly pulled off the upset of the Bears, losing 4-3. Tech is hopeful to flip that script as they return all of the six individuals and five of the six doubles players that played in that match a year ago.
UCA enters the match 3-4 overall. After dropping their first three matches of the season, the Bears won three-straight before falling in their most-recent match last Sunday against Missouri State, 4-3.
Two of the three wins in that recent streak for UCA came against Harding, a team that the Golden Suns just beat for the first time since 2018.
The first match is scheduled to begin at Noon at the Conway Tennis Center. The second match will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first match.
