TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team has one final game on their schedule ahead of their holiday break and will be at home for it against Southern Arkansas and their frenetic pace of play.

This will be the 98
th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas in a series that dates back to 1977. Overall, Tech holds a commanding 87-10 lead in the series. Since the two became charter members of the GAC prior to the 2011-12 season, the Golden Suns are 27-2 against Southern Arkansas.

As conference foes, the two teams met twice last season in the regular season and Tech emerged victorious in both games, winning 89-87 on the road and 94-87 at home.

Tip-off for Sunday afternoon's game is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Tucker Coliseum.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 4-3 overall on the season and are 1-2 early in the GAC season. Tech is coming off a tough 84-80 loss on the road at Henderson State.

Early on, the Golden Suns average 73.1 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 11th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 67.6 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .424 (183-of-432) and are limiting their opponents to a .374 mark (1154-of-412) to rank sixth.

From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .293 (29-of-99) to rank ninth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .299 (49-of-164) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .705 as a team (117-of-166) to rank ninth.

Pacious McDaniel currently leads the team in scoring at 19.7 ppg. Behind her is
Alex Hill at 14.4 ppg.
Dana Thompson and
Hayliegh Wyrick are both averaging at least 8.0 ppg at 9.2 and 8.6 ppg, respectively.

Thompson leads the team in rebounding and is averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
McDaniel leads the team and is averaging 2.7 assists per game.

Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by
McDaniel at 2.0 steals per game and in blocks by
Thompson at 0.8 blocks per game.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 17th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 346-124 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
Southern Arkansas is 6-2 overall this season and are 1-2 in the GAC thus far. The Muleriders have lost their last two games, losing 78-51 on the road at Harding and in overtime, 72-67, at home to Ouachita Baptist.

Statistically, the Muleriders average 82.6 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Muleriders rank sixth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 59.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Muleriders are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .417 (242-of-581) and limit their opponents to a .378 mark (183-of-484) to rank seventh.

Chambers leads the team and is averaging 2.9 assists per game.

Defensively, the Muleriders are led in steals by
Chambers at 2.5 steals per game and in blocks by
Reese at 1.0 blocks per game.

Adam Collins, who is in his sixth season at Southern Arkansas as head coach and his 16th overall. At SAU,
Collins has a 55-81 record and carries an overall head coaching record of 215-211.
