FIRST-SERVE
The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is set to play its final match of the 2023 season as they welcome in Ouachita Baptist to Tucker Coliseum on Thursday night.
 
Prior to first-serve, which is scheduled for 6 p.m., the Golden Suns will honor the three seniors on this year's team. Taking part in the Senior Night ceremony are Emma Crenshaw, Zoe Lott and Gracie Palmer.
 
This will be the second regular season meeting of the year between the Golden Suns and the Tigers. Ouachita won the initial match 3-2 at home back on September 26.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enters Thursday night's GAC match against Ouachita Baptist 3-24 overall and 2-13 in the GAC.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 10.6 kills/set and have a .138 team attack percentage. They have five players with at least 100 kills and are led by Kaitlyn Neal and her 219 kills. Jordan Clouse has the highest attack percentage on the team at .235 (75-kills, 226-attempts, 22-errors).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita enters Thursday night's conference match at Tech with a 16-14 overall record and an 8-7 mark in the GAC. The Tigers are coming off a five-set loss "on the road" at Henderson State this past Monday.
 
Offensively, the Tigers are averaging 12.5 kills/set and have a .228 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 200 kills and are led by Kayla Steinmeyer and her 265 kills. Haley Fairchild has the highest attack percentage among prominent attackers on the team at .314 (174-kills, 385-attacks, 53-errors).
 
The Tigers' primary setter has been Courtney Hanson. Of the team's 1,236 assists registered thus far, Hanson has accounted for 1,063.
 
Defensively the Tigers are averaging 15.1 digs/set and 1.4 blocks per set. Avery Jauz leads the team in digs with 439. At the net, Leah Gardner leads the team with 79.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Tigers is Allison Frizzell-Kizer. She is in his sixth year as head coach at her alma mater. In her time at Ouachita, Frizzell-Kizer has a 84-77 record.
