TIPPING OFF
One final game awaits the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, and it will take the team only about an hour or so west as they are set to play a road game at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on Tuesday night.

This will be the first-ever meeting all-time between the Golden Suns and Lions as UAFS was a two-year junior college until 2009 when they became a four-year school and provisional members of NCAA Division II

Tip-off for Tuesday night's game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith.
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are off to an early 1-1 start to their season and are coming off a close two-point loss at home against Pittsburg State this past Thursday.

Early on, the Golden Suns average 87.5 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 11th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 74.5 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are second in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .470 (62-of-132) and are limiting their opponents to a .449 mark (53-of-118) to rank s11th.

From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .355 (7-of-23) to rank fifth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .333 (15-of-45) to rank 10th. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .800 as a team (40-of-50) to rank first.

Individually, the Golden Suns have two players averaging double figures and two more that are at 9.5 ppg.
Pacious McDaniel currently leads the team in scoring at 22.5 ppg. Behind her is
Alex Hill at 17.5 ppg.
Dana Thompson and
Hayleigh Wyrick are the next two and are just off the double-figure average mark at 9.5 ppg, each.

McDaniel is also the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Hill leads the team and is averaging 2.0 assists per game.

Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by
Hill and
McDaniel at 2.0 steals per game and in blocks by
Shelly Butler at 1.0 blocks per game.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 17th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
WIlbers has amassed a 343-122 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.Â
SCOUTING THE LIONS
UAFS is off to a 2-2 start to their season and are coming off a pair of losses last week with defeats at home to Southern Nazarene, 71-55, and on the road at Northeastern State, 74-57. Prior to last week, the Lions had won a pair of games on consecutive days against Westminster College.

Statistically, the Lions average 61.3 ppg and rank 15th in the Lone Star Conference (LSC). On the defensive end of the court, the Lions rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 57.0 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lions are 14th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .368 (86-of-234) and limit their opponents to a .379 mark (77-of-203) to rank eighth.

From beyond-the-arc, the Lions shoot at a clip of .264 (23-of-87) to rank 13th in the LSC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .309 (17-of-55) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Lions shoot .687 as a team (57-of-83) to rank 13th.

Individually, the Lions have no players averaging double figures in scoring, but have two on the cusp. Both Hannah Boyett and Zyniah Thomas and are averaging 9.3 ppg to lead the team.

Ryan McAdams, who is in his third season at UAFS. In his time, McAdams has amassed a 19-38 overall record.
