RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Following their loss on the road to Ouachita Baptist, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team returns home for their final match of the regular season against Harding on Senior Night.
This will be the second time this season the two programs have faced each other, with the last matchup being an 0-3 loss on the road for the Golden Suns back on September 15.Â
So far this season, the Bisons are 26-1 overall and own a perfect 15-0 record against GAC opponents. They Bisons will come into the GAC Tournament with the No. 1 overall seed after claiming the GAC Regular Season title. In their last match, they picked up a 3-0 win at home over Arkansas Monticello.
Leading the offense for Harding is Kelli McKinnon with 299 kills on the year, while averaging 3.32 kills per set. Following her is Logan Smith with 257 kills on a 2.89 kill per set average. Skyler McKinnon is third on the team in kills with 219 total kills on the year. Pacing the Bisons offense is Sarah Morehead with 981 total assists with an 11.15 per set average. In terms of service aces,Grecia Soriano leads the team with 46. Emma Winiger and Libby Hinton have also added to the mix with 35.
On defense, Winiger leads the pack with 436 digs on a 4.74 per set average. Soriano has come away with 262 digs, while Morehead has 251 on the year. In front of the net, K. McKinnon is averaging 1.01 blocks per set while collecting 15 solo blocks and 76 assisted for 91 total. Following McKinnon is Hinton with 70 blocks.
Moving to the Golden Suns, Maddi Siedenburg leads the offensive attack with 207 total kills, on a 2.84 kill per set average. Following Siedenburg is
Heather Thomas with 191 kills on the year while averaging 1.91 kills per set. Kaitlyn Neal slots in right behind Thomas with 159 kills on the season and
Brianna Merkel has also contributed on the attack with 156 total kills on the season thus far. Pacing the offense is Merkel with 375 assists, while averaging 4.26 assists per set.
Gracie Palmer averages 3.76 assists per set and has set set up 372 total assists. In terms of service aces, Jamie Myrick leads the team with 38, while
Megan Solberg has 35.
Anchoring the Golden Suns on defense is Solberg with 413 digs on the year and she is averaging 4.13 digs per set. Myrick has also added plenty of help on defense with 255 total digs on a 2.58 dig per set average. Holding down the front of the net for the Golden Suns is Thomas with 15 solo blocks and 64 assisted blocks, for 79 total on the season and is averaging 0.79 blocks per set. Following behind Thomas, at the front of the net, is Lydia Hale with 32 total blocks, while Sierra Orton has 29.
The Senior Night match against the Bisons is set for a 6 p.m. first serve tomorrow evening in Tucker Coliseum.Â
