RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Volleyball team will face Harding in Tucker Coliseum tomorrow Thursday, September 30. Tomorrow night's match will also be a whiteout for pack the stands night.
The Golden Suns are riding a hot streak of seven consecutive wins and a 4-0 conference record. Their last match was a 3-1 win against Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia. With that win, Tech moved to 10-3 overall on the season.
The Bisons come into the match just as hot as the Golden Suns riding a 6 game win streak and are also 4-0 in conference play. Harding's last match was a 3-0 win against Arkansas-Monticello, which moved them to 8-3 on the season.
Standout play from senior outside hitter Tymber Riley has been a big part of the hot streak for the Golden Suns. During the last match against Ouachita, Riley put up a 15 kill 10 dig double-double, her first of the season, to lift Tech to a win. Senior right-side hitter Haylee Paladini has also been a big help offensively for the Golden Suns. Paladini had 22 kills at an impressive .500 clip across two matches last week.
Junior setter Brianna Merkel has paced the Golden Sun offense well so far this season. Merkel has 259 assists on the season while averaging 6.48 assists per set.
Senior libero Madison Grantham has been a big help on the defensive end for Tech. Grantham currently has 163 digs on the season while averaging just under four digs per set at 3.98. Leading the team in blocks is senior middle blocker Emily Ragsdale with 36 on the season.
The match against Harding is set to begin at 6 p.m. tomorrow night in Tucker.
